Campbell County Public Library offers activities for adults, children at all branches in March


The Campbell County Public Library operates four branches.

The Cold Spring Branch is located at 3920 Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring, phone 859-781-6166. The Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch is located at 1000 Highland Ave. in Fort Thomas, phone 859-572-5033. The Newport Branch is located at 901 E. Sixth St. in Newport, phone 859-572-5035. The Alexandria Branch is located at 8830 Alexandria Pike in Alexandria, phone 859-572-7463.

There are two Express locations for pickups and returns in Silver Grove and Melbourne.

Six @ Six: The Science of Clean Water

Clean water is a challenge all over the world—a result of either bacteria or heavy metals. These two problems are vastly different, and so are the solutions to fix them. DIY Bird Nesting Ball (Drop-In Program)

Help the birds in your yard make their homes and have a colorful ornament to hang in your garden. Using a grapevine ball, we will add natural products like yarn, string, cloth, and cotton to provide nesting materials for birds. This craft should take about 20 minutes to complete. Ages 18 & up. Delve into the life of Henrietta Leavitt, a woman who charted the stars and made astronomical discoveries in a time when woman were not supposed to be developing their own scientific theories.  Read by Falcon Takes Flight, the outreach wing of Falcon Theater, “Silent Sky” recounts the true story of Harvard University’s living “computers” and one woman’s challenge striking a balance between love, family, and intellectual ambition. After the reading, discuss the play with playwright, Lauren Gunderson, via video chat. Free tickets required in advance.
