NKY Chamber Eggs ‘n Issues will offer General Assembly Preview with Stivers and Meade


On Tuesday, January 29, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will host Eggs ‘N Issues: General Assembly Preview.

During the event, panelists will give a preview of the upcoming General Assembly session in Frankfort and discuss the potential impact on Northern Kentucky legislative priorities.

Panelists include:

Robert Stivers

· Senate President Robert Stivers II, Commonwealth of Kentucky – Stiver was elected by his caucus in 2013 to serve as Senate President.  Prior to President, he served as Senate Majority Floor Leader from 2009 to 2012.  Stivers is an attorney from Manchester, representing the citizens of Clay, Knox, Lee, Owsley, Whitley and Wolfe counties.  Stivers is the father to four adult children and married to Regina Stivers, Deputy Secretary of Kentucky’s Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet.
 
· House Speaker-Elect Pro Tempore David Meade, Commonwealth of Kentucky – Meade has served in the House of Representatives since 2013 and on January 8, 2019, Meade will be sworn-in to serve as the House Speaker Pro Tempore. In addition to his role as a lawmaker, Rep. Meade is a managing broker at Lincoln Realty and Auction Company.  In his role as Co-Chair of the House Working Group on Adoption and Foster Care, Meade is spearheading comprehensive reforms to both systems in Kentucky. He is the primary sponsor of House Bill 1 in 2018, which streamlines the placement of children into loving homes with the goal of making Kentucky the nation’s leader in dealing with children in state custody. Rep. Meade and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Stanford and are the proud parents of two children.

Eggs ‘N Issues will take place at Receptions Banquet and Conference Center (1379 Donaldson Rd., Erlanger). The event will begin with check-in, breakfast, and networking from 7:30-7:55 a.m., with the discussion and audience Q&A running from 7:55-9 a.m.

Registration for Eggs ‘N Issues is $25 for NKY Chamber members, $50 for future members, and $20 for NKYP Passport holders.
