A new TV reality show premiering Thursday on NBC will feature a Kentucky native as one of the competitors.

Thirty-three-year-old Christopher Watts, whose hometown is Elizabethtown, will be one of contestants in “The Titan Games.” The show’s producers say it will offer everyday people the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in remarkable feats designed to test mind, body and heart.
Watts is more than an elite athlete, he’s a decorated hero. He spent time-fighting for his country in Iraq but was injured by explosions while on deployment.
Upon leaving the service, Watts became a personal security contractor and currently resides in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Inspired by executive producer and host Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s desire to motivate global audiences to reach their potential for greatness, this new athletic competition gives men and women across the country the opportunity to step inside the electrifying Titan arena and achieve the impossible. Competitors will push their bodies to the limit by battling opponents in unforgiving head-to-head challenges.
“The Titan Games” will not only test the competitors’ physical strength but also their mental and emotional fortitude.
The first episode of “The Titan Games” will air Thursday evening from 8 to 10. It is scheduled for a 10-week run.
