Covington Police asking for public’s assistance in investigation of Sleepy Hollow Road death

Covington Police are asking for assistance with the investigation into the death of a man discovered on Sleepy Hollow Road on Friday, Dec. 14.

Police are asking anyone who traveled Sleepy Hollow Road, near Montague Road, between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. on that day to contact Detective Brian Kane at 859-292-2296.

“There is the potential that someone driving in the area may have information that can assist us in this investigation,” Covington Police officials stated in a release.

Police have identified the man as Eric Hughes, of Covington and are investigating the death as a homicide.

Covington Police responded to the scene, near Devou Park shortly after 8 a.m. in response to a call from a passing motorist about a non-responsive person on the side of the road.

Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as Hughes, deceased.

The investigation is active and no further details have been released.
