Cincinnati Amnesty International group to host Write for Rights on Saturday — invites volunteers

Amnesty International invites you to Write for Rights on Saturday as part of an international human rights project.

Amnesty International Group 86 will write letters from 1–4 p.m. at the Community Friends Meeting, 3960 Winding Way, Cincinnati.

Every December, Amnesty supporters across the globe write millions of letters for those whose basic human rights are being attacked.

During the event, anyone who believes in human rights and who desires to inspire the human spirit will write letters to help right some of the world’s biggest wrongs.

In addition to writing letters to prisoners of conscience, Amnesty needs help signing petitions and sending emails, Tweets, Facebook posts, and postcards – all in the name of human rights.

This year, Amnesty will honor many of the millions of women rising against injustice – and paying a heavy price as a consequence. Your words really can change their lives and we need YOUR help to reach our goal of 750 letters.

The Amnesty group will also feature a speaker from Refugee Connect to educate and inspire the need for your involvement in the Refugee struggle. Amnesty International Group 86 is a small but dedicated group and invites interested parties to attend.

Snacks will be served and door prizes will be given. For answers to your questions, contact Sian Bitner-Kearney at (513) 505-3073 or sianbitnerkearney@gmail.com
