Clydesdales coming to Neewport’s Party Source
On November 28th, three 50-foot tractor-trailers will make their home at The Party Source in Newport toting ten Clydesdales, a 12-ton wagon from St. Louis and one Dalmatian.
In partnership with Anheuser-Busch and Jim Beam these famous horses will be available to visit and a holiday photo opportunity will be provided. The Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales are in town to celebrate Budweiser and Jim Beam joining forces for a limited collaboration. Budweiser Brewmasters and Jim Beam’s Master Distillers have created this brew in honor of the 85th anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition on December 5th, 1933.
“It’s an honor to host the world-renowned Budweiser Clydesdales in celebration of both the 25th anniversary of The Party Source and the 85th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. It’s also a chance to celebrate a unique collaboration between two of our biggest brands. said Matt Found, Beer Buyer and Department Manager at the Party Source. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season.”
This is a “weather-permits” event.
Winslow appointed to Ethics Commission
Kyle M. Winslow of Erlanger has been appointed as a member of the Executive Branch Ethics Commission. An attorney, h will serve for a term expiring July 14, 2021.
The mission of the Executive Branch Ethics Commission is to promote the ethical conduct of elected officials, officers and other employees in the executive branch of state government. The commission seeks to fulfill its mission through administering a program of training and education on the code of ethics, providing guidance to state employees concerning their ethical conduct, enforcing the provisions of the code of ethics, interpreting the code of ethics through the issuance of advisory opinions, registering executive agency lobbyists and recommending legislation to the General Assembly.
State parks discounts for military
Current and former members of the nation’s armed forces can receive lodging discounts at Kentucky State Parks with the “USA Military Discount” program from Nov. 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019.
Those on active military duty, retired members of the military, veterans, members of the National Guard and reservists, are eligible for the program.
“We want to show our appreciation to the women and men who serve or who have served in uniform for our country with this discount offer,” Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland said.
With the USA Military Discount, lodge rooms are available starting at $59.95 a night; one-bedroom cottages for $79.95 a night; two-bedroom cottages for $89.95 a night and three-bedroom cottages for $99.95 a night. Tax is not included in these rates. These rates are good at resort parks and the cottages at John James Audubon State Park.
The rate is $5 more per night at these parks: Barren River, Cumberland Falls, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, Lake Cumberland and Natural Bridge.
