Renovations begin for new loft-style apartments in former industrial building in Bellevue

The Catalytic Fund, in partnership with project investors First Financial Bank and Vision Realty, the City of Bellevue, and developers Orleans Development Company and Ashley Construction, gathered with community leaders and project supporters yesterday to celebrate the renovation of one of Bellevue’s landmark structures.

The Kent Building’s redevelopment will be one of the largest-ever adaptive reuse projects in Northern Kentucky’s urban core. It continues the exciting renaissance that is happening there and will help to fill the high demand for urban living options.

The Catalytic Fund’s President/CEO Jeanne Schroer said, “The Kent Building is a prominent historic asset valued by its community. We were glad we were able to formulate a development plan that saves the building and contributes to Bellevue’s ongoing development momentum. Kent Lofts will provide high-quality housing options that are in demand in Bellevue and positively impact future redevelopment projects in Northern Kentucky.”

“We’re really excited to bring this iconic Bellevue property back to life,” said Tony Kruetzjans, president of Orleans Development Company. “It’s a great opportunity to develop an industrial style building and re-use it in a very stylistic way.”

Kent Lofts is located at 239 Grandview Avenue in Bellevue in a residential neighborhood just blocks away from the city’s popular downtown.

Built as a warehouse in the 1930’s, the 60,000 sq.ft. four-story historic building will be converted into more than 60 apartments, including studio loft units and one and two-bedroom units. There will be on-site parking for residents.

The total project cost is $10 million.
