The Chamber Singers are Miami University’s chamber choir. The Chamber Singers have compiled a distinguished record of performances at international, national, state, and divisional conferences, where they have established a reputation of excellence in performance.

Internationally, the Chamber Singers have toured Europe and South America, and have collaborated with professional organizations such as the San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble and the American Spiritual Ensemble. Recent commissions include the 2010 world premiere of a work by Adolphus Hailstork, commissioned by Miami University in celebration of the university’s bicentennial, and, in 2013, a work by Italian composer, Corrado Margutti.

Chamber soloists performing Sunday will be Andrew McLeese (bass), Will Ellis (tenor), Elizabeth Ewigleben (soprano), and Michelle Story (mezzo-soprano).

Morpheus Chamber Ensemble

The Morpheus Chamber Ensemble, now in its eleventh year at Miami, is a faculty/student string ensemble founded by Miami music professors to help provide added performance opportunities for students of strings. Among the faculty artists performing this Sunday is composer and organist Dr. Phillip Roberts, Dr. Harvey Thurmer on violin,  and Dr. Cole Tution on cello.

The Cathedral Concert Series was founded in 1974 by Dr. Robert Schaffer and presents instrumental and choral music in the rich tradition of  western liturgical and inspired classical music in a suitable visual and acoustic environment. For more than four decades, concert-goers have enjoyed this rich tradition of sacred music amid the pristine acoustics of the Cathedral Basilica’s stunning Gothic interior.

All Cathedral concerts are open to the public and there is no admission charge.
