Berling begins her duties Monday, October 22.

“The Association has found itself at the forefront of an amazing growth horizon, in part, because of our valued education partners in the community,” said Brian Miller, executive vice president of the trade organization. “As we head in a direction to expand the scope and quality of our education at the Institute as a regional training provider for both secondary and post-secondary students in multiple locations we find ourselves in need of Dr. Berling’s talent, experience and track record of success to help grow our programs, strengthen our partnerships and adequately address our industry’s workforce development needs,”

Dr. Berling recently announced this change during her time as a panelist at the NKY Chamber’s Women’s Initiative Regional Summit event that occurred on Wednesday, October 17

Dr. Berling comes to the Building Industry Association after serving as the founding director of the Sullivan University Center for Learning – Northern Kentucky.

Prior to her time at Sullivan, Berling was the Executive Director of Educational Outreach at Northern Kentucky University. In that role she worked with adult and online students, dual-credit high school students, and students at extended locations. She also directed Norse Advising, a centralized advising hub, for three years.

Berling also previously managed the TAP Program at Thomas More College (now Thomas More University). She came to higher education after a successful career in healthcare marketing.

Berling is heavily involved in the community.

She is vice president of the Board of Directors of the Covington Ladies Home, co-chair for the Community Impact committee of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and a team leader for the Northern Kentucky Education Council, among other responsibilities.

She’s a graduate of Ludlow High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Western Kentucky University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Thomas More College and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Indiana State University.

“Vicki will be an outstanding leader of the Enzweiler Building Institute and our education community as we work collaboratively to address the growing construction workforce and move forward to begin construction of our regional campuses funded by the Kentucky Work Ready Skills Initiative,” Miller said.  “We are extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Berling to our team and very excited about the outcomes that arise because of her leadership.”
