Volunteer NKY is a movement to encourage social service volunteerism to add capability to the hundreds of local organizations that support people who are struggling in life.
Poverty, hunger, recovery, abuse, illness and unemployment are but some of the many causes you can find as a volunteer.
This marks the fourth year of the Volunteer NKY movement. A group of volunteer-passionate people from across Northern Kentucky came together in the Fall of 2015 to consider how to systemically influence social service volunteerism. The team’s goal was to enhance the good work already done by individual local organizations. The outcome was the development of a volunteer engagement vision and strategy.
The work has evolved from planning to action. An extensive toolbox is available for volunteers and volunteer leaders. For volunteers, a “development playbook” and a process to link skilled volunteers with organizational needs has been developed.
Volunteer fairs bring together about 20 local organizations that need volunteers.
Individuals can learn about the many service possibilities.
