Spanish for Business Classes return to Northern Kentucky Chamber in the fall, register now

Keeping up with the increasingly global business world should be a priority for businesses, and one important way to keep up is to be able to speak the language of potential clients and vendors.

That’s why the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) is bringing back its popular Basic Spanish for Business I and II workshops this fall.

Spanish for Business I introduces basic modes of communication in Spanish and emphasizes everyday language. Participants will learn grammatical structures and will get an overview of the various cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

At the end of the classes, students should be able to carry on a basic conversation in Spanish, speak and write basic information about themselves and others, have the ability to conjugate verbs in the present tense, and order food and drinks at a restaurant.

The two-hour class will meet twice a week for two weeks and will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 2, 4, 9, and 11 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The classes cost $125 for NKY Chamber members, $150 for future members. The third class will be held at a Mexican restaurant enabling participants to practice their language skills.

Following Basic Spanish for Business I, The NKY Chamber will offer Basic Spanish for Business II, which will emphasize the blend between using the present with the past tenses, plus irregular conjugations and idiomatic expressions. At the end of the class, students should be able to carry on a conversation at mid-level Spanish and talk about events in the past tense.

The two-hour Basic Spanish for Business II class will meet twice a week for two weeks and will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 6, 8, 13, and 15 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The classes cost $125 for NKY Chamber members, $150 for future members. The third class will be held at a Mexican restaurant enabling participants to practice their language skills.

Completion of Spanish for Business I is not necessary to register for Spanish for Business II.
