NKITA hosts exporting class with DHL

Exporting is a crucial facet of many Northern Kentucky businesses, which is why the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association (NKITA) and DHL will host Exporting 101 on Tuesday, October 16 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The class will cover basic information businesses need to know to export products out of the country.

The Exporting 101 class will be presented by Alan Majchrzak, DHL’s Director of Import Compliance and 20-year veteran of DHL Express. Majchrzak is a licensed Customhouse Broker with more than 35 years of experience in import brokerage. While at DHL, he has held various positions including Gateway Import Manager at the CVG hub, U.S. Director of Import Compliance, and was involved in US development and implementation of DHL’s proprietary export/import application.

“We often get calls at the NKY Chamber from small to mid-sized companies interested in selling their products online,” said Debby Shipp, Vice President International Affairs and Business Growth for the NKY Chamber. “But before they’re prepared to deal with it, they get an order from a part of the world they’ve never shipped to and discover there are restrictions and laws they must follow.  This class will give a broad overview on what you need to know about sending and receiving goods from all over the world.”

Exporting 101 will take place at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) (300 Buttermilk Pike, Suite 330, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017), Registration is free for members of NKITA, $20 for Northern Kentucky Chamber members, and $35 for future members. Registration is available online at www.nkychamber.com/events.
