Free Street Corner Music Festival on Sat. at Hellman Creative Center in Covington, music, food, activities


On Saturday, September 29 noon-6 p.m. The Hellmann Creative Center (321 W. 12th Street, Covington) will host an afternoon of local music, food, kids crafts, and activities, booths, and more.

Enjoy a variety of music styles from local bands like the Rollins Davis Band, the Northern KY Brotherhood Singer, the Amador Sisters and more.

Performances will also include dance teams the Diamondettes and QKidz, poetry readings by Davon Brooks, hula hooping, the Covington Fire Department Smoke House and more.

Other demonstrations and information will be available from the NKY NAACP, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, KY Commission on Human Rights and Covington Human Rights Commission, Gateway Community & Technical College, Take 10 CPR Training, Caring with Cookies, Community and Restorative Justice-Covington, and more.

Event attendees can catch a free TANK shuttle directly to the event.

The bus will have a “SHUTTLE” sign in the window and will make stops at regular bus stops starting at E. 12th & Scott to 20th & Scott, 20th & Greenup to 8th & Greenup, 11th & Scott, then proceed to Fisk & W. MLK, the site of the festival.

Special stops will be at River’s Edge and the Lincoln Grant Scholar House. The Shuttle will run approximately every 20 minutes. Riders in wheelchairs can be accommodated.

This event is made possible by Community & Restorative Justice Covington and The Center for Great Neighborhoods Creative Community Grant program, funded in partnership with Artswave.
