Smithsonian magazine’s annual Museum Day on Sept. 22 includes Behringer-Crawford Museum for free ticket


More than 1,250 museums across the country will participate in Smithsonian magazine’s annual Museum Day on Sept. 22, adopting the policy of the Smithsonian Institution by opening their doors for free to visitors.

Participating museums and cultural institutions will provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Participants may download one ticket per email address, and each ticket provides free general admission for two people.

Sixteen museums in Kentucky are participating in Museum Day:

• Adsmore Museum, Princeton
• Behringer-Crawford Museum, Covington
• Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum, Marion
• Thomas Walker State Historic Site, Barbourville
• Historic Railpark and Train Museum, Bowling Green
• Hopewell Museum, Paris
• International Museum of the Horse, Lexington
• Janice Mason Art Museum, Cadiz
• Kentucky Gateway Museum Center, Maysville
• Kentucky Museum, Bowling Green
• Kentucky Science Center, Louisville
• McCreary County Museum, Stearns
• Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind, Louisville
• Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site Museum, Perryville
• The Lincoln Museum, Hodgenville
• White Hall State Historic Site, Richmond
