Caleb Lopes homered twice and drove in four runs Saturday night to lead the Florence Freedom to a 5-2 win over the Evansville Otters in the first game of a doubleheader at Bosse Field.
Lopes launched a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Freedom a 2-0 lead. He capped his 4-for-4 performance at the plate in the seventh inning with another two-run blast, this one extending the Florence lead to 5-2.
Lopes now has four home runs this season, and he is hitting .289.
Austin Wobrock went 2-for-4 and scored two runs for Florence, which finished with a 10-5 advantage in hits. Reliever Johnathon Tripp pitched the final two innings to record the victory and allow the Freedom to even the four-game weekend series at 1-all.
Evansville posted a 4-3 win over Florence on Friday night in the series opener.
