John Price Jr. hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap a 3-all tie and lift the Florence Freedom to a 5-3 win over the River City Rascals on Tuesday night at UC Health Stadium.

Skyler Ewing and Ricky Ramirez Jr. also homered for the Freedom in the victory. River City scored three times in the first inning to build a 3-0 lead, but Florence countered in the bottom of the frame when Ramirez launched his eighth homer of the season, a two-run shot, to make it a 3-2 game.

Ewing belted his 11th homer of the season to lead off the fourth inning and tie the score at 3-all. That set the stage for Price, whose two-run blast in the seventh gave Florence a lead it would not relinquish.

Jordan Kraus went seven innings and struck out seven batters to pick up the win. After allowing four straight hits in the first inning, Kraus faced the minimum over the next 19 batters. He allowed three runs, only two of which were earned, on five hits and did not walk anyone.

Johnathon Tripp pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his 10th save.

The two teams meet in the second of the three-game series Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at UC Health Stadium.
