Center for Great Neighborhoods looking for FreshLo Fellows to do local food events

The Center is accepting applications for our FreshLo Fellows program. The FreshLo initiative, funded by The Kresge Foundation, is an effort to promote the use of fresh, local food as a platform for neighborhood revitalization within Covington’s Westside Neighborhood.

Our current FreshLo projects range from growing local produce and urban agriculture to supporting food-related businesses and food-related job training.

What is the FreshLo Fellowship opportunity?

We are providing an eight-week project management opportunity for four Covington community members (12 hours/week).

The fellowship pays $11/hr and will take place at The Center for Great Neighborhoods (321 W. MLK Blvd, Covington,). The fellowship will start on Aug. 27. The final week of the fellowship requires an event or activity for the community hosted by the FreshLo Fellows. Fellows will be provided a budget of $800 to implement their event or activity.

The Center for Great Neighborhoods seeks enthusiastic candidates who have an interest in the community and a desire to learn new skills.

Interested individuals should contact Kareem Simpson at The Center for Great Neighborhoods by Aug. 10: email at kareem@greatneighborhoods.org or call/text at 859.479.2064. Interviews will be held on Aug. 13-14 between 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
