Northern Kentucky Chamber hosts annual Leadership Breakfast Aug. 24, registration open

On Aug. 24, the Northern Kentucky Chamber Foundation will host the seventh annual Leadership Breakfast at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center (3861 Olympic Blvd., Erlanger, Ky. 41018).

The event, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., will feature keynote speaker Shane Meeker, a nationally recognized storyteller, story trainer, and author.

Meeker is the Corporate Storyteller and Company Historian at Procter & Gamble. He is also the founder of StoryMythos, a series of workshops and presentations detailing how movies can be a guide to better business stories.

He will share ways to combat the challenges businesses and brands experience as they try to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Meeker has studied the film industry and created a way to apply storytelling methods from favorite movies, books, and TV shows to the branding world.

By the end of the breakfast, attendees will understand the power of storytelling and how to apply techniques from Aristotle, Shakespeare, and PIXAR films to businesses in any industry.

“More than ever, there is one thing that truly separates brands and companies – and that is story,” said Meeker. “It’s no longer just what people buy, it’s what they buy into. When it comes to connecting, teaching, influencing, and inspiring others, a story will make whatever you say more impactful. Movies, books, and television have the best stories around, and you can solve almost any business problem with what works in Star Wars.”

The cost of the event is $40, with early bird registration of $30 by Aug. 3. Registration includes breakfast, and it is available online at www.nkychamber.com/events.

Proceeds from the event will support Regional Youth Leadership, an organization dedicated to cultivating the leadership skills of youth resulting in the retention of talent in our region.
