The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 40 years of Leadership Northern Kentucky with a new class of 52 professionals from businesses around Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati region.
Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2018
The nine-month program utilizes the community as a classroom to help participants gain an understanding of the strengths and opportunities of the Northern Kentucky region and the skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to address them.
The programs are designed to help a diverse group of potential, emerging, and existing community leaders acquire an understanding of the strengths and opportunities of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area and the skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to address them. The curriculum for each session changes based on the needs of the region for that specific topic.
Since its inception, 1,300 alumni have come together through the Leadership Northern Kentucky program to make a difference in the community. At the end of each year, the classes have used their insights gained during the program to complete hands-on projects aimed at supporting and improving the community. Past projects include Unlock the Block, Hopebox Derby, River Cities Relay, UpStart, Emergency Shelter NKY, the NKY MakerSpace, and more.
“We are excited to begin the celebration of Leadership Northern Kentucky’s 40th year by welcoming the Class of 2019,” said Leadership Northern Kentucky Chair John Domaschko (Class of 2013). “During this milestone year, the class will develop and enhance their understanding of our region’s circumstances while being challenged to improve those circumstances collaboratively,” continued Domaschko, Senior Counsel at Great American Insurance Group. “This special group is poised to contribute immediately to our community and we look forward to being part of that process.”
Domaschko, along with Vice Chair Laura Menge (Class of 2015), Philanthropic Advisor with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and Leadership NKY Alumni are responsible for organizing the monthly sessions for participants.
The Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2019 participants were selected from a variety of job sectors and civic interests, from companies and organizations on both sides of the river.
