Kentucky, Ohio physicians sponsor symposium on pain management, safe prescribing procedures Aug. 17-19

On the anniversary of their successful first annual meeting, the Ohio Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (OHSIPP) will now partner with the Kentucky Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (KSIPP) for an even bigger meeting. It will again be held Aug. 17-19 in Cincinnati at the Westin on Fountain Square.

Last year’s meeting was an enormous success with almost 300 attendees.

Registrants attending this year’s event will learn about advanced pain management therapies that can be an alternative to opioids. There will also be lectures on safe opioid prescribing protocols.

Highlighting the personal toll of opioid addiction will be an interview session with rock guitarist, Richard Lloyd. His new book, “Everything Is Combustible,” covers his life in the influential rock band Television and also his struggles with an opioid addiction and his eventual recovery.

Lloyd overcame his addiction long ago and is recording a new album. He is touring the Midwest in support of his book and upcoming record. More information on the conference and the complete agenda is available on the website

OHSIPP and KSIPP both promote the development and practice of safe, high quality yet cost-effective interventional pain management techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pain and related disorders and to ensure patient access to these interventions.
