Kentucky Today

An Ohio man who made a false bomb threat to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport was sentenced to four months in prison Thursday.

Dana Carter, 40, of Dayton, admitted to investigators, on Oct. 22, 2016 he made a series of phone calls to the airport to falsely report a bomb on an outbound flight to Dallas, Texas.

The flight was cancelled and passengers were rebooked.  No bomb was found.

According to Carter, he was running late for the flight and made the false statements in attempt to delay it.

Under federal law, Carter must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence and, upon release, will be under federal probation for three years.

Attempts to reach Carter were unsuccessful.
