Boone County Sheriff’s office launches new user-friendly website and mobile application

Boone County Sheriff Michael A. Helmig has announced the launch of a new Boone County Sheriff’s Office website and mobile application.

The website, www.boonecountykysheriff.com and the mobile application gives users a more efficient way to report minor crimes, obtain information about Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon Licenses, locating sex offenders in your area, look up Boone County Ordinances, and downloading an application for employment in one consolidated area.

The website and mobile application also offers many more features that Sheriff Helmig felt was important for those who use that information to have at their fingertips. Every feature available on the website is also available on our mobile application.

Features include updates from the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, with a link, a Current News section captured from the Northern Kentucky Tribune RSS feed, and more.

The mobile application is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play by searching, “Boone County KY Sheriff”.

I think this is a great idea, the question here is the response time. When you call the authorities for minor incidents you often talk to a person who is able to give a time line. Also talking to a person over the phone gives assurances that help is on its way. An application wouldn’t be able to give that personal touch. There is also the testing period where there is a chance to find any errors and fix them.
