Kenton County Animal Shelter to change hours beginning July 1, to be more community focused

Beginning July 1, the Kenton County Animal Shelter will have new shelter hours to offer better services for the public. These hours will affect both the Adoption Center side and the Receiving Center side of the shelter. Previously, each side had slightly different hours.

The new hours are as follows:

Monday………………………..12:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Tuesday…………………………12:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Wednesday…………………….12:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Thursday……………………..12:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Friday……………………………12:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Saturday……………………….10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Sunday………………………………………………..Closed

This change is part of the shelter’s ongoing effort to be community focused. By updating their hours, the shelter hopes to welcome more members of the community and increase the amount of animals finding their forever homes.

“Our previous hours were not compatible with most community member’s schedules,” said Shelter Director Beckey Reiter. “We are excited about the opportunities these new hours will bring and the new relationships we will be able to build.”

The Kenton County Animal Shelter is located at 1020 Mary Laidley Dr, Covington, Kentucky 41017.
