Suits that Rock will rock out a benefit for Carnegie’s youth arts programs — and provide a great party too

The Carnegie’s annual Suits That Rock benefit concerts return to The Carnegie’s Otto M. Budig stage on June 16 & 23 for two great nights of live music. The Suits will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the college classic movie Animal House, with Suits That Rock: Toga Party.

This June 45 business and community leaders from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati will embrace their rock star alter egos and take to The Carnegie’s Otto M. Budig Stage for the 11th year of concerts. Since its inception, Suits That Rock has raised more than $800,000 for arts education programming at The Carnegie. The money is used to fund programming at 60 schools and organizations around the region allowing 31,500 students to participate in music, dance, art, and drama activities.

“Suits That Rock is always a great party with incredible performances,” said Kim Best, Executive Director of The Carnegie. “We love seeing what the Suits have in store every year and are incredibly grateful for the support they give to The Carnegie’s education programming and the impact they’ve had on countless children in the community.”

To celebrate Animal House and the college antics associated with the classic film, the group will perform college tunes that have stood the test of time like Shout, Come On Eileen, and Misty Mountain Hop, along with newer favorites like Shake It Off, Call Me Maybe, and Mr. Brightside.

While the core roster of Suits performers remains the same, each year a handful of guest Suits are invited to join the lineup. This year’s additions include Dan Barr (COO, Barr Corporate Success), Rich Boehne (Retired CEO/current Chairman, E.W. Scripps Company), Brian Kaeppner (Senior Technology Leader, KAO, USA Inc.), John Kellington (Senior Vice President/CIO, Cincinnati Financial Corporation), Jon Long (Owner/Member, CAPA Property Management, Owner/Member, Mt. Matre LLC. Real Estate Companies), Rick Marksberry (Retired Inspector, Northern Kentucky Health Department), Bob Mitchell (Senior Vice President/CMO, Cintas), and Tamara Scull (Assistant Public Advocate, Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy).

“The mix of experience in Suits That Rock ranges from those who spent years in professional public performance to those who always had the passion but never had the time to find an outlet for it,” said John Domaschko, Suits That Rock co-founder. “The combination of talents from our core roster and guest suits allows us to tackle just about any popular song from 1955 to today. Because of the variation in backgrounds, the musical result is always greater than the sum of its parts.”

Tickets to Suits That Rock: Toga Party are $60 for Mezzanine, $85 for Orchestra, per person (reserved seat) per night, and include a commemorative Suits That Rock mug, light bites, and of course a rockin’ good time. A cash bar and valet parking will be available. Doors open at 7 p.m. each evening with performances kicking off at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available by calling The Carnegie Box Office at (859) 957-1940 (Tues – Fri, noon-5 p.m.) or online at www.thecarnegie.com.
