Horizon Community Funds, KPI partnering to offer philanthropy event, focus on NKY opportunities

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky is partnering with the Kentucky Philanthropy Initiative (KPI) to host a new event that will take a comprehensive look at the community’s unique opportunities through philanthropy.

Power in Numbers will focus on a recent study addressing the significant transfer of wealth taking place in Northern Kentucky, and the opportunity to capture some of that wealth to invest back into the community, especially in the areas of poverty, workforce, health, and education.

“The new data from the Transfer of Wealth Kentucky study show that we have tremendous potential to impact some of our region’s most pressing needs,” said Nancy Grayson, president of Horizon Community Funds.

“We invite all interested community members to engage in a day of learning and thoughtful discussion on how we can join together to create a brighter future for Northern Kentucky.”

Featured speakers from regional and state organizations will highlight opportunities for addressing local community issues and attendees will participate in conversations on the information and strategies presented throughout the day.

Northern Kentucky youth who have been empowered through philanthropy will also share their inspiring stories.

The Power in Numbers symposium will be held at the St. Elizabeth Technology and Education Center in Erlanger on April 17, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Civic leaders, nonprofit organizations, financial advisors and wealth planners, elected officials, faith-based leaders, employers, and other engaged citizens will find useful information that impacts their work and community.

Power in Numbers is presented by Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky, the Kentucky Philanthropy Initiative, the Butler Foundation, Duke Energy, Northern Kentucky Education Council, Northern Kentucky Tribune, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation.
