Willy Wonka dress rehearsal in Jan. to benefit NKY Chamber Foundation’s Regional Youth Leadership

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, The Carnegie in Covington (1028 Scott Blvd.) will host a special dress rehearsal performance of Roald Dahl’s WILLY WONKA to support the NKY Chamber Foundation’s Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) program.

The classic tale of Charlie and Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate factory comes to life on stage for The Carnegie’s annual family-friendly production. Audiences will enjoy cheering on Charlie as he finds his golden ticket, singing along with the Oompa Loompas, and taking a fantastical tour of the most famous candy factory of all time.

“We’re very excited to be the recipient of this special performance. This is a wonderful show that children of all ages can really enjoy,” said Ann Marie Whelan, Program Director for RYL. “The Carnegie has been such a generous supporter throughout the years. Their contribution helps to ensure that RYL will be able to continue to develop our region’s young leaders well into the future.”

A nonprofit program of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, RYL uses the community as the classroom to develop the leadership skills of high school juniors in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The experiential nature of RYL provides the opportunity for unique collaboration among a diverse group of students from the tri-state region attending public, private, and home schools in urban, rural, and suburban schools.

Tickets are available for $23 each or $80 for a family four-pack. To order tickets, click here, call (859) 578-6398, or email Ann Marie Whelan at amwhelan@nkychamber.com.

Individuals who are unable to attend but would like to support this fundraising effort may purchase tickets and donate them back to the RYL program. All donated tickets will be given to nonprofit organizations serving children so their clients may attend the performance.
