Peter Burris Jr., who was just short of his 90th birthday, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice.
Burris served for three terms as chair of the board of directors of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport for three terms as the airport became “international” and Delta was growing its presence there.

He was active in the community in many ways, involved in civic and political affairs. A WWII veteran, he held as associate degree from the University of Cincinnati, worked for Cincinnati Bell, and was involved in campaigns for Wendell Ford. He was named JAYCEE’s Young Man of the Year and served on the board at Redwood.
He served on Fort Mitchell city council and on the Democratic Executive Committee.
“Pete” Burris (December 27, 1927-November 16, 2017) is survived by son Peter W. Burris, daughter Michelle Gooche, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Burris, and a daughter, Karen Burris Baker.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.
