Cincinnati man struck by two vehicles and killed while walking along US 25 near Florence Monday


A pedestrian was struck by two vehicles and killed while walking along Dixie Highway near Florence Monday evening.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office says Nicholas Arthur, 32, of Cincinnati was walking with friends along the 8200 block of US 25 at about 10 p.m., when he was struck by the first vehicle, which left the scene.

He was lying in the road, when the second vehicle struck him. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the vehicle that left the scene, or its occupants, to contact the Boone County Sheriff’s office at (859) 334-2175.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office issued the following statement regarding the incident:

On Monday, November 20, 2017 at approximately 10:05 p.m. a pedestrian walking along the 8,200 block of southbound U.S.-25 (Dixie Highway) near Florence, Kentucky was struck by two vehicles and died as a result of those impacts.

Nicholas Arthur, 32 of Cincinnati, Ohio who was walking with friends separated from them to another part of the roadway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.  He was lying in the road when another vehicle came along and struck him.  He was pronounced deceased at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision and ask that anyone with information as to the identity of the run vehicle and/or its occupants to please call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at (859) 334-2175 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 852-3040.

Next of kin have been notified.
