News briefs: Winkler at Ft. Thomas schools; Service First Logistics helps Redwood; Wilson certified


Fort Thomas Independent Schools has selected Peter Winkler to serve as district-wide elementary assistant principal. Winkler has been a 5th-grade teacher at Moyer Elementary since July 2011.
 
Before joining the faculty at Moyer, Winkler was an elementary teacher for seven years in North Carolina.

Winkler earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. With his National Board Certification and additional credit hours, he earned his master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Xavier University.  
 
Superintendent Karen Cheser said, “Peter brings strong teaching experience and leadership skills to the assistant principal position. This unique position serves all three elementary schools in both an administrator and instructional coaching role. Peter is the perfect person to support teachers and principals in enhancing instruction for all of our students.”
 
“I am so excited to step into this new role in Fort Thomas and lucky to have the opportunity to work with the incredible students, teachers and staff from all three elementary schools,” said Winkler. “This is a great district with a bright future and I am thrilled to be part of it all.”
 
Winkler will immediately begin serving as assistant elementary principal.

Service First Logistics: Gift to Redwood

Service First Logistics Inc. (SFL) hosted its second annual golf outing, again choosing Redwood as the beneficiary.
 
The successful event raised $8,000 all donated to Redwood. The event took place on May 20th at Devou Park Golf Course in Park Hills, Kentucky and hosted 88 players.


 
Redwood, located in Ft. Mitchell, helps children and adults with severe and multiple disabilities through educational and therapeutic services. SFL has created a partnership with Redwood because of the amazing work they do and the personal impact that has been felt by members of the SFL team.
 
SFL is a technology driven asset-based freight brokerage firm headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI with an office in Cincinnati. 

SFL analyzes and manages shipping lanes for companies that range from Fortune 500 to small family owned shippers, growers, and manufactures. 

Century 21’s Wilson earns military relocation certification

Tami Wilson with Century 21 Stellar Real Estate in Florence has been awarded the nationally recognized Military Relocation Professional Certification.

The National Association of Realtors® awards the MRP certification to Realtors® who help military personnel, veterans and their families find housing that lets them make the best use of their benefits and serves the unique needs of military life. Realtors who earn this certification know to work with active duty military buyers and sellers, as well as veterans.

The certification is an approved elective for NAR’s Accredited Buyers Representative designation.

To earn the MRP certification, Realtors must be in good standing with NAR; complete the MRP Certification Core Course; complete a reading providing background information on the military, included acronyms and understanding military culture; and complete two webinars.
