With extensive track record of community service, Carri Chandler to head St. Elizabeth Foundation


After 18 years with Toyota’s headquarters in Northern Kentucky, Carri Chandler will become vice president of St. Elizabeth Foundation, effective January 3.

Her final day with Toyota is December 2.

In her new capacity with St. Elizabeth Foundation, she will lead the effort to work with associates and volunteers to provide donors the opportunity to make a difference in the region through St. Elizabeth Healthcare programs and services.

Chandler brings a wealth of experience to her new assignment. For Toyota, she led activities in both media and community relations for the company’s 14 North American manufacturing plants. Her extensive community engagement experience is far-reaching. She is a graduate of the Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2001, past chair of the Class of 2006 and was honored by the organization as one of five “Leaders of Distinction” in 2014. She is a 2014 graduate of the statewide Leadership Kentucky program and currently serves on the board.

“We are fortunate to have someone with the background and skill set Carri brings to our team,” said Garren Colvin, St. Elizabeth President and CEO. “She has established deep roots and developed a solid reputation within the community. She also has a strong track record of strengthening fund development programs and partnering with leaders in our community which will help improve Northern Kentucky’s overall vitality and health.”

St. Elizabeth Foundation board chair, Bob Hoffer, agreed:

“The Foundation can and will continue to provide stability to St. Elizabeth as we transition to a new model of healthcare as reform continues to develop and evolve. Her leadership, vision and passion for our community will lead the Foundation to new heights. It is important to ensure the future of St. Elizabeth to enable us to reach our vision of making Northern Kentucky one of the healthiest communities in America. We have a very generous community and we need to build on that generosity to achieve this lofty vision.”

Chandler chaired the United Way Northern Kentucky cabinet for the 100th anniversary campaign and serves on the current campaign cabinet. She was honored by the Greater Cincinnati United Way with the Neil H. McElroy award for Resource Development Leadership. Since 1999 she has chaired and continues to serve on the board of Kids Voting Northern Kentucky, a non-partisan organization dedicated to generating interest in the voting process to eventually increase voter turnout. She served on the leadership team of Vison 2015. Following seven years on the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Ambassador Council, she now serves on the Zoo’s Foundation board.

In addition she was honored in Cincinnati Business Courier’s annual “Forty Under 40” list of rising community leaders and by The Kentucky Post with the Outstanding Woman of the Year Emerging Leader award. She received the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Walter L. Pieschel Award as the organization’s Outstanding Volunteer of the Year and serves on the Chamber’s board.

I look forward to working with Garren Colvin and the St. Elizabeth team to strengthen relationships, increase collaboration and advance the mission to become one of the healthiest communities in America.”

A native of Elkhart, Ind., Chandler is a graduate of Ball State University and studied political science in Vienna, Austria. She lives in Ft. Mitchell with her husband and two children.
