Center for Great Neighborhoods offers free Heathy Mind and Body day camp for children June 7-9

The school year is ending, but many summer camps haven’t started yet. The Center for Great Neighborhoods (The Center) is filling part of that gap with a three-day Healthy Mind and Body Day Camp.

Running 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 through Thursday, June 9, the camp will take place at Orchard Park in Covington.

Elementary aged children are invited to learn healthy habits for mind and body through art, mindfulness, exercise, and nutrition activities.

Children will participate in art activities such as making mosaic stepping stones and habitats for mason bees, in addition to learning about the Orchard Park chickens, garden, and composting.

Students will celebrate the end of camp with their families from 7-8 p.m. on June 9 with a presentation showing what they’ve learned.

The camp is free to attend and includes breakfast and lunch. Space is limited to 30 students.

For questions, or to register, please contact Annie Brown at anniegfabulous@gmail.com or (859) 653-9227.

Orchard Park is located at the intersection of Orchard Street and Jackson Street in Covington. Children will be outside from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
