“We are thrilled to announce to our Norse fans and community that Jess has chosen to continue her career at NKU,” head coach Dawn Plitzuweit said. “She is a high energy individual who gives her best in all facets as a student-athlete and with that quality, she also has the ability to bring out the best in others. She has great size for a perimeter player and she possesses a skill set that makes her a very versatile player.

“She has experience competing at a very high level and we believe that with her ability, drive, and experience that she will help us continue to elevate our program in the coming years. We could not be more excited about Jess joining our Norse family.”

Walter plans on studying in the Haile/US Bank School of Business upon her arrival to campus.

“I’m so excited to have the opportunity to continue my career at NKU,” she said. “Not only is it an incredible basketball program with a vision for greatness, but it will also prepare me for my future. The people at NKU are second to none, and I cannot wait to be surrounded by them every day.”

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Walter will be eligible to see game action in an NKU jersey at the start of the 2017-18 season. The Norse will be eligible to participate in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history beginning in the 2016-17 season.
