Kicking off a season comprised of classic and modern hits, The Carnegie will open its 2015-16 Theatre Series with the Stephen Sondheim musical comedy, COMPANY, presented by Rosemary & Mark Schlachter, running weekends August 15-30.

Directed by Corrie Danieley and starring Zachary Huffman, COMPANY follows the story of the very single Robert who is surrounded by friends who are all married. While he envies their love and companionship, Robert can’t seem to part with his bachelor ways. On his 35th birthday, they surprise him with a cake and a birthday wish that will leave him pondering the life he’s chosen. Both poignant and funny, anyone who’s been in love will be able find a little of themselves in this contemporary Broadway classic.

“I’ve always loved COMPANY because it’s so relatable,” said Maggie Perrino, Carnegie Theatre Director. “Everyone has struggled with love and relationships at some point, and Sondheim’s biting, insightful take makes for one heck of a night at the theatre. Plus, our cast is absolutely outstanding. A true tour de force of beautiful voices and brilliant acting.”

Performances of COMPANY run weekends August 15 – 30, Friday & Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $28, $21 for students, and can be purchased through The Carnegie Box Office, open Tuesday – Friday noon-5 p.m., in person or by phone at (859) 957-1940, or online at www.thecarnegie.com. Patrons seeking group or student tickets should call to make arrangements.

Winner of myriad of Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, and Olivier Awards, COMPANY is one of the most beloved musicals of the modern era. Featuring hit songs such as “Another Hundred People,” “Side by Side by Side,” “The Ladies Who Lunch,” and “Being Alive,” COMPANY is musical comedy at its very best.

The 2015-16 Carnegie Theatre Series is sponsored by the Otto M. Budig Family Foundation. The 2015-16 Season Program is sponsored by Paula & Glenn Wienkoop.
