Cov’s Doug Kelley rolls perfect game in Special Olympics Kentucky State Bowling Tournament


Special Olympics athlete Doug Kelley of Covington rolled a perfect 300 game Saturday at the Special Olympics Kentucky State Bowling Tournament at Fern Valley Strike and Spare in Louisville.

Kelley’s perfect game came in the second of his two-games in the tournament.

He bowled a 200 in the first game for a 500 series to win the Gold Medal in his division.

This isn’t the first time Kelley has excelled at the State Tournament.

Kelley bowled a 299 at the State Tournament in 2010 when it was still held in Lexington.

The Special Olympics Kentucky State Bowling Tournament continues today at King Pin Lanes and Fern Valley Strike and Spare with the Unified and Doubles events.

Unified bowling begins at 9 a.m. at Fern Valley and 9:30 a.m. at King Pin. Doubles follows at both locations.

Kelley will bowl in the Doubles event at King Pin, which begins at 2 p.m.
