Moore has been elected by the Board to follow Dr. Jim Votruba who completed his term as Chairman of the Board. Dr. Votruba will remain on the Board until completion of his second five-year term as a member.

Gary Moore has served on the St. Elizabeth Board since the merger with St. Luke in 2008. During that time, St. Elizabeth has been named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by HealthGrades, recognized as a Top Performer by Joint Commission, and received the highest hospital safety score for all three of its main hospitals by the Leapfrog Group.

In 2012, St. Elizabeth Healthcare became the tenth member to join the prestigious Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Gary Moore has served as Judge Executive of Boone County since being first elected in 1998. He serves on the executive committee of the Tri-County Economic Development Corporation, past president of the Kentucky County Judge Executives Association, and chairman of the National Association of County’s Transportation Steering Committee.

He has served as president of the National Association of Regional Councils, chair of the OKI Regional Council of Governments, and is currently the second vice president of OKI and the first vice president of Kentucky Association of Counties.

In addition to St. Elizabeth, Moore is a board member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a member of the Northern Kentucky University Foundation and co-chair of the NKU Advocacy Committee, the Greater Cincinnati YMCA Board of Directors, and board of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

“Our board feels great confidence in the future of St. Elizabeth Healthcare,” said Votruba. “Gary will continue to set high standards across all dimensions of St. Elizabeth but with a special emphasis on excellence in patient outcomes. Gary has a long and distinguished record of leadership both in government and as a St. Elizabeth board member. I have no doubt that St. Elizabeth will continue to thrive under Gary’s strong leadership. It’s been an honor to serve this outstanding healthcare system and I look forward to my continued involvement.”

Since 2008, Moore has served as chair of the St. Elizabeth Governance Committee. The committee oversees board development, the board nomination process, and monitors government and legislative affairs on behalf of the healthcare system.

“It’s an honor to follow a leader like Jim Votruba,” said Gary Moore. “In the midst of enormous healthcare repositioning and change, St. Elizabeth has made remarkable progress in assuring access to the highest levels of quality healthcare for the citizens of our region. St. Elizabeth sits at the very heart of our region’s future. I believe that the Board of Trustees has a vital role to play in the partnership with the St. Elizabeth leadership team as we chart a future course on behalf of the public we serve.”

As the governing body of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, the Board of Trustees approves strategic plans to establish the long- term direction and safeguard the mission and values of the 157-year old organization.
