Gateway names Andrew Carroll new Workforce Solutions vice president, effective Oct. 30


Gateway Community & Technical College has named Andrew (Andy) Carroll will be the new Workforce Solutions vice president. He will begin his position Oct. 30.
 
“We are pleased that Andy is joining our team to lead Workforce Solutions,” said Dr. Fernando Figueroa, Gateway Community & Technical College president. “His unique combination of knowledge and leadership experience in secondary education, higher education and private industry provide a well-rounded understanding of the educational and business communities he will serve.”

Carroll began his career in private industry at the Chrysler Corporation and Tenneco Automotive as a product and program engineer collaborating with management, manufacturing personnel and customers to improve processes and deliver product on time and to specification.
 
Then, he joined Terra State Community College in Ohio, first as faculty, teaching mechanical engineering and manufacturing technology. Later, he moved into leadership as the Dean of Science, Technologies, Engineering, Mathematics and Workforce Development.
 
Most recently, Carroll has served as an educational consultant for the Buckeye Educational Systems in Ohio providing leadership in relationship management, sales, project management and professional development for teachers and administrators. In addition, he has served as Perkins Local School District Board of Education board president since 2012.
 
“I am honored to join the Gateway team and look forward to working with the college and employers in the region,” Carroll said.  “Together, we will work on strategic initiatives to enhance lives and strengthen our community.”
 
Carroll is completing an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership and Management through Capella University, Minneapolis, MN. He has earned a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University, Tiffin, OH, a Bachelor of Science in Technology from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH, and an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering/CAD-CAM from Terra State Community College, Fremont, OH.
 
Caroll will be joined in Northern Kentucky by his wife, April, and three sons.
