A monthly list of events at Campbell County Public Library branches is provided here.

The Campbell County Public Library operates three branches. The Cold Spring Branch is located at 3920 Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring, phone 859-781-6166. The Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch is located at 1000 Highland Ave. in Fort Thomas, phone 859-572-5033. The Newport Branch is located at 901 E. Sixth St. in Newport, phone 859-572-5035.

Begin your journey in creating your own unique space on the internet, or in video games such as Minecraft. Ages 11 & up. Registration required.

Dungeons & Dragons
6-10 pm Friday, Oct. 6
Welcoming experienced and new players alike, we will be playing Dungeons and Dragons 5e. If you don’t know how to make a character, we will have pre-generated characters for you to use. If you would like to make your own character, we will be making characters and leveling up from 6 to about 7 pm. Minecraft Club

Loud at the Library Music Jam

The Reformation Remembered: 500 Years of Protest & Revolt

Oct. 31, 2017, marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation.
Oct. 18: To mark the occasion, Dr. William Landon, professor of history at Northern Kentucky University, will discuss the life and times of Martin Luther.
Oct. 25: Dr. Landon, the Rev. Ronald Ketteler of the Covington Diocese and the Rev. Joan Armstrong of St. Luke Lutheran Church, will discuss the impact of the Reformation. Ages 18 & up. Register separately for each event.

Austin Alley, a May 2017 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, discusses the critical importance of hospice care and why it’s relevant to the millennial generation. Six @ Six is a community lecture series sponsored by Northern Kentucky University’s Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement in partnership with the Campbell County Public Library and other institutions within our region. Daddy and Me events promote positive father involvement and strengthen the father-child relationship which benefits the whole family. WAVE on Wheels presents Sharks
4 pm Tuesday, Oct. 17
The Shark Cart brings live sharks to you with the first-ever mobile shark tank on wheels! This program demystifies common misconceptions about sharks and gets you up-close and personal with these amazing creatures. Learn the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and WHY of sharks! By the end you will discover how you can make a difference in shark conservation. Ages 6-12. Registration required.

Family Fun Night: Hocus Pocus Extravaganza

Family Fun for the Deaf Community

Come for board games, crafts, coloring, and mini sign language classes offered by the Deaf Institute of Cincinnati. We have the afternoon to see how many games we can play, how many pictures we can color, and how many new phrases we can sign. Snacks provided. No need to register.

Ghoulish Halloween Mansions
3 pm Saturday, Oct. 21

The Itsy Bitsy Spider and the Gigantic Web
4 pm Tuesday, Oct. 24
Create a gigantic spider web out of toothpicks and marshmallows. Can we create a web that will fill the room? Ages 6-12. Registration required.

Sensory Science Story Time
11:30 am Saturday, Oct. 28
Children of all ages are invited to explore stories, songs and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activities. This program is designed for children with sensory integration challenges but is open to children of all abilities. All ages. Registration encouraged.

In the 2012-2013 fiscal year, 681,701 people visited the Library, checking out more than 1 million items.
The Library makes every reasonable effort to accommodate patrons with disabilities. Please allow 72 hours before the event when requesting such accommodation. All facilities and meeting rooms are ADA compliant.
