Cathedral Concert Series starts 42nd season at Basilica on September 24; it’s free and open to public

The Cathedral Concert Series commences its 42nd Season on Sunday, September 24 at 3 p.m.

It will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.

CCM Chorale, Cincinnati Children’s Choir Bel Canto, UC Men’s and Women’s Choruses, and Seven Hills Brass Ensemble will participate.

Brett Scott, Robyn Lana, Kevin Coker and Molly Getsinger are conductors.

The Choral Department celebrates CCM’s 150th Anniversary with festival repertoire featuring Norman Dello Joio’s Proud Music of the Storm for mixed chorus, organ and brass, commissioned by Mr. and Mrs. J. Ralph Corbett in 1967 to celebrate CCM’s CCM 100th Anniversary and the dedication of the college’s move to UC’s campus, its new home, the Corbett Center for the Performing Arts.

The Covington Basilica’s pristine gothic acoustics and inspiring visual environment provide music lovers of all ages the opportunity to hear large-scale music performed live in an ideal setting.

All Cathedral Concerts are open to the public with no admission charge. A Freewill Offering is gladly accepted.
