HealthSouth rehabilitation hospital to host groundbreaking for expansion on August 23

HealthSouth Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital will host a community groundbreaking ceremony for the hospital’s expansion on Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 10-11 a.m.

The event will be held outside of the hospital, which is located at 201 Medical Village Drive in Edgewood.

Presentation remarks will be given by Troy DeDecker, president of HealthSouth’s central region; Jeremy Yates, CEO of HealthSouth Northern Kentucky; Dr. Neal Moser, medical director of HealthSouth Northern Kentucky; and feature a special testimonial from former patient Bill Kappesser and his family.

“We are excited to begin serving even more patients in northern Kentucky through our 11-bed expansion,” said Yates. “Our team is looking forward to helping more patients walk again, talk again, get back to work and return to their communities and the activities they love. It’s truly an honor to be able to do what we do every day to make a difference in their lives.”

The expansion includes 11 private patient rooms, a new therapy gym area and a dining refresh that will provide an upgraded culinary experience for patients. The hospital provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients recovering from debilitating illnesses or injuries such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, hip fracture and amputation.
