Frontier Airlines celebrates new service from CVG to San Diego Sunday — three times a week

Frontier Airlines added new nonstop service from CVG to San Diego Sunday with an inaugural flight celebration including a ribbon-cutting, #CVGselfie station and gifts for passengers.

Service to San Diego now operates three times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday using 180-seat A320 aircraft.

“Thanks to the terrific support of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community, and our partners at CVG, we’re able to launch this new service to San Diego today,” said Richard Oliver, Frontier Airlines spokesman. “We look forward to welcoming passengers onboard this new non-stop low cost flight to San Diego.”

“The growth of Frontier at CVG over the last four years has been incredible,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “Frontier now offers 17 nonstop year-round and/or seasonal destinations with 93 flights a week. Frontier also becomes CVG’s 4th largest carrier in terms of daily flights and 2nd largest carrier in terms of seats offered. This success would not have been possible without the support of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community.”

Frontier began service from CVG May 17, 2013 with one daily flight to Denver. On Thursday, 5/18, Frontier celebrated its two-millionth customer at CVG by awarding that passenger, and her guest with free travel on Frontier for one year.

In addition to Denver and San Diego, Frontier also provides nonstop service to Atlanta, Dallas, Cancun, Ft. Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco and Tampa/St. Petersburg.
