Rudolph Hermes, father of Erlanger Mayor Tyson Hermes, dies at age 89; services Saturday


Rudolph August Hermes (1927-2016), father of Erlanger Mayor Tyson Hermes, died Saturday, November 19, at age 89.

He was an award-winning architect and builder and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carole Bruner Hermes; daughters Krista Werbil and Anne (Frank Laske) Volkmann; sons Tyson (Julie) Hermes and Erik (Melissa) Hermes; and sister Agnes (Gerhard) Oevermeyer. He is also served by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His parents were the late August and Anna Hermes.

Visitation will be at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Road, Cincinnati from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Dominic Church.

Memorials may be made to the St. Dominic Education Fund.
