Florence duo arrested on Interstate 75 in possession of more than one pound of methamphetamine


The Florence Police Department, in cooperation with the Cincinnati office of the DEA, arrested two men on Interstate 75 Tuesday, in possession of more than one pound of methamphetamine.

Charles R. Miles and Anthony Mason, both of, Florence, are charged with drug trafficking after police say they were apprehended on Interstate-75 in possession of more than one pound of methamphetamine.

Charles R. Miller, 25, and Anthony D. Mason, 28, both of Florence, also had a small amount of heroin in their possession at the time of the arrest, according to the Florence Police Department.

The methamphetamine has an estimated street value of more than $48,000.

Both men are charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and were transported to the Boone County Detention Center.

The Florence Police Department issued the following statement regarding the incident.

On 9/20/16 at approximately 3:57 PM the Florence Police Department conducted a traffic stop on I75 Northbound as a result of a drug investigation. This was a joint investigation involving the Florence Police Drug Unit and the Cincinnati office of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

florence-pd-logoAs a result of the traffic stop over one pound of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $48,000 and a small amount of heroin were confiscated. The following individuals were arrested for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and transported to the Boone County Detention Center:

Charles R. Miles, 25 years old, Florence, KY

Anthony D. Mason, 28 years old, Florence, KY
