GCF’s NKY fund awards Prichard Committee a $50k grant for early childhood ‘cost of quality’ study

A $50,000 grant from The Northern Kentucky Family of Funds of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation will support the early childhood advocacy efforts of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence.

The grant will finance the Early Childhood Provider Cost of Quality study in Kentucky. “The Northern Kentucky Family of Funds of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation are proud to support the Prichard Committee’s early childhood provider cost of quality study project,” said Helen Mattheis, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s Director of Thriving People. “We thank our donors for making this investment possible. The study that has been commissioned by the Prichard Committee will ensure that accurate, objective information goes into future targeted investments for early childhood work.”

The Northern Kentucky Fund is a permanent, charitable resource that brings together donors with the common goal of enhancing the quality of life in Northern Kentucky. Since its inception, the fund has invested in the health and vitality of communities in Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties.

“We are extremely excited about partnering with The Greater Cincinnati Foundation to conduct a study on the provider cost of quality early childhood programs and share the results with policymakers and other education stakeholders,” said Brigitte Blom Ramsey, executive director of the Prichard Committee.

“Objective information on the true cost of quality will provide a common understanding of what resources providers need. This study will provide accurate data to ensure sufficient levels of investment and information that will shape our advocacy efforts.”

The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence is an independent statewide advocacy organization dedicated to the improvement of education for all Kentuckians.
