River Metals Recycling, largest scrap recycler in state, named Newport 2015 Business of the Year


River Metals Recycling (RMR) Newport was named 2015 Business of the Year at the by the Newport Business Association.

The Newport facility was recognized for significant contributions to the community, including working with the Fire and Police Departments for emergency response training, donations to the city and park system, and volunteer efforts. RMR was chosen over 400 other local businesses.

Bob Eviston, RMR president, thanked Arvil Pennington, RMR Newport Facility Manager and all of the Newport teammates for their commitment to the Newport community.

“Your time, talent, and ongoing dedication to give back to the community are a source of pride for RMR,” Eviston said.

River Metals Recycling is the largest scrap recycler in Kentucky and in the greater Cincinnati area, with nine locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. RMR is headquartered in Crescent Springs and has nearly 250 teammates.

River Metals Recycling’s Newport facility specializes in scrap recycling services for households, tradesmen and businesses, and buys ferrous scrap as well as common household nonferrous scrap metal items like aluminum cans and other aluminum, stainless steel, copper and brass products.

RMR is wholly owned by The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), one of the largest scrap brokers/processors in the United States providing scrap brokerage, recycling and transportation services.
