The Robert “Bob” Flick Memorial Highway will be officially dedicated at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 in the lot of the former Flick’s IGA on KY 20 in Hebron, next to the McDonald’s. The public is welcomed to attend the sign unveiling.

A bill sponsored during the last legislative session by state Sen. John Schickel, R-Union, and state Rep. Addia Wuchner, R-Florence, officially named the portion of the road between KY 237 and KY 212 after the longtime grocer. Flick died in November at the age of 73.

“Bob Flick and his grocery stores were iconic fixtures in Boone County for so many years,” Schickel said. “We thought it only fitting that the road his original store was on should be officially designated the Bob Flick Memorial Highway.
