NKYHatesHeroin to hold second annual 5K walk/run on Saturday, starting at Simon Kenton High School

For the second year, NKYHatesHeroin.Com will hold a 5K Walk/Run to help raise funds and awareness for its efforts to combat the heroin epidemic in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati region.

Last year’s run attracted over 1600 participants and organizers are hoping for an even bigger crowd this year.

This year’s event will take place Saturday, June 6, starting with registration at 6:15 a.m. and a race start at 8:30 a.m. The race starts and ends at Simon Kenton High School, 11132 Madison Pike in Independence.

NKYHatesHeroin.Com is committed to its mission: Providing support and aid to those affected by addiction and their families. Partnering with our communities through awareness, resources and education for prevention.

Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for male runners, female runners, male walkers and female walkers.

Pre-Registration is available online by 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 2. Pre-registration fees for the 5K are $25 and include a shirt.

In-person registration will be at Crossroads Church, 828 Heights Blvd., Florence, during packet pick-up (includes shirt while supplies last). Packet pick-up is Thursday from 1 p.m to 8 p.m. or Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Crossroads Church

Race day registration: Starts at 6:15 a.m. at Simon Kenton High School. Race Day registration fees are $30 for the 5K (includes shirt while supplies last).

Post Race refreshments will be provided. Awards given to overall winners.
