Flying Axes held its Grand Opening Ceremony to celebrate the hottest new trend in sports (Axe Throwing) coming to Covington.
“We’re open for business and inviting the community to come celebrate with us,” says Mike Brown, co-Founder and COO of Flying Axes. “We’ll have introductory throwing sessions, food trucks, music, beer from Braxton beer — It’s going to be a blast. We’re so excited to be apart of the Covington and Greater Cincinnati community.”
Join the coaches and staff until 8 p.m. at the historic Firehouse (formally Tickets) at 100 West 6th Street.
Admission is free, and 15-minute axe throwing tutorials are just $5 per person. Beer and food will be available all day from Braxton Brewery, Eli’s BBQ, Arepa Place, and more local partners.
Covington is the Flying Axes’ second location and the second venue in the American Axe Throwing League.
“It’s time to show Covington what this sport is all about,” said Paul Montgomery, general manager. “At Flying Axes we are about safety first, fun and memories a very close second. We can’t wait to introduce ourselves to the city and get some familiar faces visiting us regularly.”

Axe throwing is a fast-growing recreational sport, in which players compete by throwing axes at wooden targets. Popular in Canada since 2006, axe throwing is now spreading across the United States. When played at a reputable venue, axe throwing is a fun, safe activity that almost anyone can compete in.
