Erlanger man pleads guilty to three counts of sexual assault of a minor, faces 20-50 years or life


Christopher Charles, 40, pleaded guilty to three counts of 1st Degree Sodomy (Child <12) without the benefit of a plea agreement.

Charles faces 20 to 50 years or Life in prison on each count when he goes before Kenton Circuit Judge Patricia Summe for final sentencing on August 20, 2018.

Charles admitted to three acts of deviate sexual intercourse on different occasions with the same child victim. Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders, who prosecuted the case, said two acts occurred at the defendant’s residence in Erlanger and the third act took place in the parking lot of Frisch’s restaurant on Dixie Highway, also in Erlanger.

Charles also faces 1st Degree Sodomy charges in Grant Circuit Court for additional acts with the same victim which occurred at a Grant County residence. Charles is also charged in Grant County with a single count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor after Kentucky State Police investigators recovered a video of one sex act found on an electronic device belonging to Charles.

Regardless of the final sentence imposed, Charles must register for life as a sexual offender.
