Covington Catholic plays host to STEM Day Out as 30 students gather for experiential learning

Covington Catholic High School served as host for the 2018 STEM Day Out program on Wednesday.

Thirty students experienced sessions on Electric Motors, Innovation, and Gearing Robots. Sessions were facilitated by CovCath engineering teachers with assistance from high school students.

The day is a free experiential learning opportunity for students in grades six through eight from across the region, sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the NKY Education Council and Greater Cincinnati Stem Collaborative.

Covington Catholic has made big commitments to STEM over recent years, including the adoption of Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum program and the construction of a new academic wing with STEM program-specific facilities which will be completed in the fall.
