“This project will add a northbound lane from the I-275 ramps to South Park Drive, adding capacity and improving the traffic flow in this congested area,” said Bob Yeager, chief district engineer for KYTC District 6.

The work on Worldwide Boulevard will add a two-way left turn lane and a southbound right turn, which will create dual right turn lanes to southbound KY 237. The project area extends from the roundabout at Cardinal Way to the I-275 ramp.

The new southbound lane on KY 237 is scheduled to be open by Oct. 1 and the work on Worldwide Boulevard is scheduled to be completed in June 2019.

Bluegrass Paving Inc., of Florence, Kentucky, was awarded the contract.

All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. Motorists should be mindful of lane closures and traffic control in the work zone.
